FRANCESCA BASSI COLLECTION 2010

The collection, designed by Francesca Bassi, offers a series of scarves and stoles aimed at the woman who wants to be fashionable whilst maitaining her individual style.
A new feature of Francesca’s collection is the search for products that go beyond Made in Italy, where we see the introduction of hand printed Indian items that bridge the gap between Italian Design and Indian hand craftsmanship.

Both subtle tonal ideas and intense saturated colours characterise the Autumn Winter 2010 collection. The principle colours are the new blue hues, purple and graded shades of green that run through to teal tones. There are hints of cherry and bordeaux too. Completing the look are the unmissable beiges and browns and the big return to back, white, grey and black.

Francesca has used fabrics ranging from subtle mussola through to silk velvet. These in turn are augmented by silk, tulle and cashmere. A point of interest is pigment-printed tweed.
Wool is a feature, presented in various moods from tricot with boiled wool sewn-on details to multicolored designs from the ‘Diwali Collection’. These are made in India by master craftsmen. There is also a stunning range of hand printed designs much appreciated by men as well as women.

The collection make a strong feature of soft modal, by now a staple of any range, this time in cashmere/silk mixes. There is also micromodal that has been printed in graded colours or piece dyed to form maxi stoles.

Evening Glam Capsule Collection
A refined range concentrates on black and/or grey. The key fabrics are tulle with velvet applications, glittery velvet, fabrics completed with small sew-on details to give a glamourous evening feel.
Stoles with knitted borders add a chic element to the collection, as does the poncho with a lapin border.

Noteworthy also are items in cashmere and silk that have been enriched with fringes and veils. To conclude, there are knee-length socks in lurex with flirty glitter details - ideal when worn under sandals!
